People in jail aren't the only ones affected by the "criminal culture" Also experiencing the impact are the families of those who are imprisoned, those who return from prison to the community, and the families of those ex-inmates.

Over 2.3 million people are incarcerated in the U.S. A high percentage of them will return to inner-city communities upon release. To effectively transform these at-risk communities for the cause of Christ, it is imperative that the church be equipped not only to mentor these men and women but also to nurture their families.

Working together with partner churches and organizations, the Prison Ministry of Here's Life Inner City offers resources in evangelism and discipleship, life-skills training, career development and youth development. Please click here for more information about Beyond Bars, a ministry tool that equips churches to effectively minister to ex-offenders, inmates and their families, focusing on evangelism, discipleship and "life needs."
